After the offer to assassinate Lord Mendas Muk agreed to the dark deed. Muk said that he would do this to seal his loyalty to the Shades. Shade then gave Muk a single drop of Wyvern Poison to put onto a dagger and use it to kill the high Lord of Boulder. He offered 5 other shades to assist him in his task and to keep an eye on him should he try anything funny. Muk and the 5 shades took off toward the castle when a light rain began to drop, Mukabee had planned to go through the back of the castle and climb into Lord Mendas chamber, Him and one other Shade would go into the chambers while the other four made a distraction should something go wrong.

Muk and his Shade handler managed to climb the side of the bridge and around the back side of the castle unseen using climbing gear. As Muk entered into the Lords Chambers he saw a bed covered in silk curtains, pulled back to find that Mendas daughter was also sleeping in the chamber. Upon finding the child he covered his dagger in the poison and they both simulatoiusly killed the daughter and Lord Mendas in cold blood. Meanwhile, Muk attempted to open Lord Mendas desk but the sound he made caused his companion to pull him back from making a loud enough sound to get caught. The other shades performed a distraction with the royal guard to give Muk the opportunity he needed to escape the castle, scaling the tower, crossing the bridge, and narrowly escaping town before being noticed. Near the forest edge of Boulder, Shade greeted Muk yet again, plodding him for his act of murder. Shade took Muk’s mask and bestowed upon it an enchantment, when worn it will hide the identity to any who witness you. Shades proceeded to tell Muk, target the people that have been hurt by the royals recruit those capable of aiding them in their plight to bring down the royals and corruption they represent. Muk simply needs to send Shade an update using invisible enchanted ink that he stole from the empire so he a get reports on Muk’s goings on, guise them as notes to your wife to keep suspicions low. At this point Shade received word on his Sending Stone, that his people were caught up in a battle with the remaining party of TBD.

Meanwhile back at Muks home Bertold and Argento were awoken in the middle of the night by a strange calling, something their minds could not overcome…they had been drawn to the waterfall outside of Muks home. While Baelon, Spades, and Raul were able to resist this temptation Argento and Bertold suffered a sharp sting in their minds, as the pain subsided they snapped out of it but Baelon noticed there was a large figure standing behind the waterfall. The party got together and wanted to check on Muk and his family in the house, the knocked on the door of the house waking the baby and Loom who said she didn’t know what was going on and that Muk was doing the honey harvest tonight before he left. The party agreed they should split up, Baelon and Spades would stay back and keep an eye on the waterfall and Muks family, while the rest went to the Bee Hives to find Muk and make sure he was safe.  While split up Spades and Baelon talked together while the rest of the party was ambushed in the forest on their way to the hives. It was Shades who attacked them in the forest though they were able to fend them off and kill four of them they didn’t capture any of the survivors who made a daring escape. During their encounter the shades mentioned during the fight they caught Muk and were torturing him.

After the fight they could not find Muk anywhere near by so decided to drag the bodies back to have Spades and Baelon help investigate for any hints or clues as to Muks whereabouts. Once back to the homestead they searched the bodies and found nothing of note, they tried to remove the masks but they had a glow to them and when the masks were removed the faces lacked any facial features, just blank skin. The party agreed, they could not stay near the waterfall, that it was too dangerous and as they were discussing where to go and what to do, Muk approached beaded and battered as if he was mugged in the streets. The party was relieved to find out that Muk was able to “escape” from the shades, though the truth was that Muk intentionally took a beating to hide his true whereabouts.
