We are excited to share with all of our followers our new campaign being written and ran within the First Edition of Adventure Plane. We are playing Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition in a completely home-brewed campaign created and written by our very good friend Derek, who will also be our Game Master these next few years. Follow along as we present you weekly recaps of our campaign, our “crit counter”, and updates about Adventure Plane as we play within the very tool we have created for all of you!

Our story begins in Gawhines, Land of the Free, 569 AGD (After the Great Divide). The land of Gawhines is a vast continent filled with opportunities and adventures. Six nations work together in a coalition to enrich each others lives. The six nations of Gawhines are able to thrive under the rule of a mighty Emperor, Telick Anzer, who has served as Emperor for 49 years. The Empire has not always ruled over Gawhines however. Imperial Law was established after the Great Divide, a moment in history when the Archmages of Calhoon separated the lands of the entire world for the greater good. After the Great Divide, Gawhines was able to thrive under strict law and coalition between the remaining nations of the realm.

The six nations are guarded and maintained by the Imperial Inquisition, an elite unit of well trained and handpicked soldiers from all the nations. The Inquisitors devote their lives to the Empire and the peace of the six nations. They are highly regarded people who protect the innocent and enforce Imperial Law throughout the realm. They also patrol the roads that travel through the “Neutral Zones” keeping them safe from the wilderness of the space between the nations.

The Empire above all things values arbitration and accountability, going as far to give even the Emperor themselves a term limit. They are elected by the board of High Ranking Inquisitors, and approved by the Council of Nations. In the year of the Imperial Selection a grand festival lasting 6 months occurs, an event for the new emperor to travel the realm and treat with the citizens of the empire.

Gawhines cannot of course be covered completely by the Empire, it is filled with uncharted and neutral territories that are crawling with bandits, creatures, monsters, and uncovered secrets that have long been forgotten due to the dangers that exist there. To keep these areas in check, the first Emperor Galas had the Supreme Mage and the mages set up towers and barriers along the boarders to ensure that creatures of those areas are dealt with appropriately. With this set up and the forces of the Inquisition threats are dealt with as quickly as possible.

With the six nations working together under the Empire, Gawhines has established lasting peace. Though evil and darkness still lurks in the corners of the realm the Inquisition is dedicated to the preservation of peace through the rule of law.

As for our heroes…

The annual harvest festival is being held in the nation of Catal. Catal has been a staple in the realm for providing raw materials, food, and resources to the rest of the realm. The local lords are dedicated to provide entertainment to honor the success of the years harvest for the Empire.

With the start of the festival, many travelers have arrived in the City of Boulder in the nation of Catal on a beautiful summer morning to prepare for the big Harvest Parade. City Guards are posted for protection, though usually they are not needed.
