The Party of TBD was relieved to find Muk in once piece but all agreed they couldn’t stay at Muk’s home with the dangerous being hiding behind the waterfall nearby. They all agreed they should carry out Lord Mendas contract of finding the missing animals of Haggen Farms and ascertain the whereabouts of the missing Yon Vanderwild. With haste, the party left int he middle of the night to get as far away from the waterfall and onto their journey as possible.
As daylight rose, they encountered a friendly yet simple farmer on the road. A Firbolg name John and his oxen Percy. Though a simple farmer he filled his cart with goods from the farmers of the Ozarian Farmsteads and brought them to the Harvest Festival in Boulder on their behalf. Proceeding with their journey they left the farmer to his travels.
As the party got to Haggen Farms they met a Satyr named Fia who was on the watch for the farm, she mentioned that she would inform Mr. Haggen (the farms patriarch) the adventurers to help with his missing animals had arrived. Tgilla Haggen, also called Mr. Haggen a large Minotaur discussed the missing Yon Vanderwild and his missing animals. He mentioned that Yon had arrived at the farm to help him find the missing animals but he himself went missing a few days ago. Tgilla Haggen, then gave the party leave to search the farm and pick up where Yon left off.
The Party began to check the farms many out buildings and barns, it seemed like in one of the main barns that the sides were ripped and broken open to make a large enough hole for cattle to walk through. Tgilla told the party about 25 animals had been taken and its been really hurting his farms bottom line. Tgilla made sure to feed the party a hardy breakfast after their overnight travels and gave them leave to rest for the day while they discussed the case of the missing animals amongst each other around their camp behind the farms stables.
As the party wrapped up their breakfast, Spades began to poke around the farm, planted some seeds around the farmstead and investigated the Butchers Shed. While talking with the head farm hand, a Satyr named Tel, he discovered a trap door in the butchers shed, but didnt push further and returned to camp to inform the group what hed found.
Meanwhile baack at the camp, Argento prayed to his god Apollo, Baelon gifted Muk a painting he made of his home before joining the rest of the group to get some rest. As the party woke they continued their investigation of the farm. Marvin stayed to watch the camp with Bertold while the rest of the group checked out the barn again and found that there was tracks that matched up with humanoid tracks sprinkled in with the animal tracks. Following these tracks for a few miles they led them through the farmlands and out to a small patch of forest, but once the tracks reached the forest they magically stopped with no further sign. As if the animals disappeared all together. They checked and checked and checked but with no success they decided to pursue the trap door in the butchers shed.
They then investigated the trap door, by freezing the lock of the Butcher’s shed and smashing it open with his glaive, Argento entered into the butchers shed. Inside the trap door they discovered crowbars with deep marks that seemed to be used on wood. Using their deductive reasoning the party felt like these were evidence that someone used them to tear open the hole in the barn. In their discussions they drew the attention of another Satry but dismissed him claiming they were simply investigating, mended the lock and returned to camp. The party attempted to figure it all out and Marvin the Unicorn snuck off to investigate the animal tracks on his own. The party decided to rest again before approaching the butcher himself for questioning.
They met the butcher, a man named Z and talked to him and found out he was at the farm for 5 years and he applied for the position after working as the assistant for many years. he seemed untruthful though when asked about if he got along with Mr. Haggen. The party decided to ask about the butcher around the farm in more detail, talking to Tel and other farm hands. Finally Raul the rowdy dragonborn returned to butcher having had enough and slammed the butcher into the table and begin to intimidate him for more information about what was going on around the farm. Z finally fessed up and said that he helped some people release the animals, and that he would be killed if he said who asked him for help with the barn. SLAM, Raul and Spades together pressed him for more. The butcher in fear for his life said to the party, it was a member of the Wu-Ton Clan…
